Get Involved

There are many ways to get involved in the iWay scheme.

I fix bikes…how can I help?
Bike fix

We often run Big Bike Fix events where biking professionals help to fix up bikes to get them on the road again.  If you are a professional who knows their way around a bike, please get in touch to find out how you can help.

I run a business…how can I get my staff involved?

iWay are working to develop a number of commuter routes in the Hastings District to encourage commuters to cycle or walk to work. We also work with local businesses to offer help with event promotions,  bike rack facilities for their staff and run a number of business-related cycling/walking events each year, which usually offer a nice prize at the end as an incentive. Find out more about ongoing events on our events page or contact us via email info@iway.org.nz or phone on 871 5000 to find out more.

I work at a school…what can we do?

We are currently running the MoveIt campaign which is designed to encourage children to walk, scoot or cycle to school and we’re looking for more schools to join in. Students are

safetygiven a MoveIt card, which is stamped at the school gate by MoveIt volunteers (including children) each time they make an active trip to school during the promotion. Once the card is full, it goes into a weekly school draw to win great prizes, such as t-shirts, vouchers and iWay merchandise. Parents can win prizes too! To get your school involved, email info@iway.org.nz or phone the iWay team leader on 871 5000. MoveIt is FREE – schools just need to provide volunteer marshals for the promotion period but there’s usually no shortage of these…

I’d like to volunteer…where can I find out more?

We are always on the hunt for willing volunteers to help out at our events or to help promote walking and biking where they live or work. Email info@iway.org.nz to find out whether we are currently looking for help.

I like to walk or cycle for fun…what can I do?

First up, check out the routes and maps. We are constantly working to extend the network of pathways we offer so it’s worth checking in from time to time to see what’s new.Tour de Iway 008

If you enjoy using the iWay network, spread the word. Follow us on Facebook  for the latest events and updates, share them with a friend and involved whenever you can.

I’d like to give you some feedback…what’s the best way?

We value all feedback, comments, suggestions and great ideas. Whatever’s on your mind, please drop us a line on info@iway.org.nz; if you need to report a fault on one of our routes, please do so here
